PRIVATE St Andrews Beach Ride – ADVANCED Level Only

If you are an Advanced Level Rider and looking for an exhilarating ride through native coastal bushland and a ride on the beach, then, our Private St Andrew’s Beach Ride may be the best option for you.

You will have an opportunity to canter for long stretches through the bush track and once you’ve reached the waters edge you will walk (only) on the beach and be able to watch the ocean waves and experience the great outdoors.

There truly is no better way to explore the area than on horseback.

We have beautiful, sound and gentle horses and we guarantee that we’ll have a horse to make you feel safe, and have the time of your life.

Weight Restrictions: For the safety of our customers and the health of our horses, we have a maximum safety weight restriction of strictly 80kg until 19th Feb '21 / 90kg from 20th Feb '21 / 95kg from 1st Mar '21. All Customers are weighed in the office before they commence their ride if you have incorrectly advised us of your weight and we are unable to allow you to ride on the day, your booking will not be rescheduled no credit and/or NO refund will be given as per our Refund Policy in the Terms & Conditions.

Prior to your booking, you are required to advise us of any special needs and or disabilities or impairments of any kind such as but not limited to; Physical or Intellectual disabilities, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy/Fits, Fainting, Back Injury, Pregnancy, Heart Condition, Recent Injury, Allergic Reactions, Medications, or Other.

Gunnamatta Trail Rides reserves the right to conduct a pre-ride assessment in order to determine the riders ability before accepting any booking with an advised condition. If a rider arrives on the day without advising us in advance of any special conditions / needs, and not given us time to prepare & arrange for a pre-ride assessment, the booking will not be rescheduled for another time and a refund will not be provided.

I’ve been going to these trail rides for years, the outdoor ed company I work for sends the kids here when their schools can afford it. Lovely staff! Horses are horses, they talk about them like they are people but you never get enough time with the horses to even know their personalities. Obviously. The Gunnamatta part of the journey is beautiful! Remember - WEAR long pants!

Such a fantastic experience! The staff are so welcoming and put anyone with concerns at ease. We did the sunset Beach ride and loved it. For anyone visiting the area and looking for something to do this is a must! You won't be disappointed.

Professional, instructive and enjoyable even for first time riders. You're given a sense of independence in a safe environment. The horses are calm and well trained to respond to their rider and the guides. Highly recommend!

An experience that I will never forget. We were guided throughout the ride and never felt out of our depth. The horses were trained well and knew the trail. The price is high so this might not be a regular experience, but we will come back when we can.

We went on the Bushman's trail Ride it was myself, hubby and 6 year old daughter. As it was the first time ever my daughter had been on a horse this was perfect for us! The level is for beginners so a gentle ride. The horses were all amazing and paired with you personally. The staff are super friendly, very helpful, encouraging and patient! Very well organised and would recommend it to anyone. When my daughter is old enough we are looking forward to trying the beach ride. (Must be aged 10). See you then Gunnamatta Trail Rides!

My husband and I did the private trail ride and it was absolutely magical. We had the Horses Pixie and Pikey who were best friends and the most amazing guides on our trial. Our guide leading us was also amazing with lots of great chat. Overall an amazing experience, would definitely do it every day if I could! Thank you for an amazing experience Gunnamatta!!

Today my daughter and I did the St Andrew’s Beach trail ride with the Gunnamatta trail rides. The staff were very Patient, polite and attentive. The ride itself was fantastic, I would recommend anyone thinking of going on a horse trail ride in the Mornington peninsula that they take The Gunnamatta trail rides. The owner the staff are amazing and what can I say about the horses they are beautiful.

We did the St Andrews beach ride and it was such a great couple of hours! The staff were absolutely wonderful and the horses were beautiful. You can tell they are so passionate about what they do and care for the animals so well. My 10 year old daughter loved the horse ride so much she can't stop talking about it. From the moment you make the booking, the Gunnamatta family supports you all the way until the end. We were late, and they were really supportive. The trail was fun and appropriated for beginners like ourselves. They'll find you the right animal for you, and it had the necessary level of trotting with the horses; I would definitively come back!

Had an absolute blast with these guys! Upon being told about this group by my mate who rode with them, I eagerly booked a ride. However falling sick the DAY BEFORE the ride I had to cancel, but the lovely girl on the phone reassured me and offered to rebook for another time. This date was honored. (I'm seeing some reviews saying that they cancelled bookings, Or were "unprofessional" when it came go cancelling bookings without refund. Unless I'm lucky here? I would assume maybe it's a miss understanding) we had a pretty big group and the day was perfect for a good ride! The young girls who lead the way were energetic and passionate about what they do which is amazing especially because of the type of job they do. Had an absolutely amazing day and couldn't have asked for a better ride (in fact it was better than we imagined!) Thanks. Will see you soon.

wonderful people and fun trail, highly recommended! both my partner and I were complete beginners and we felt very safe with the wonderful instructors. Riding on the beach was also lots of fun, as well as getting to know the horses' personalities. the cats chilling in the foyer are very cute!

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at Gunnamatta Trail Rides. We felt so welcome by the owner and friendly staff as soon as we walked in. It was my first experience with horse's, and it was such a positive one. I couldn't speak any higher of the service and proffesionalism displayed by the staff. Will be recommending this to other people and hopefully be back soon!

I have been horse riding since I was 3 and I absolutely love Gunnamatta. Since the first ride I ever had there (age 5), I have been in love. Stunning scenery, kind staff and of course BEAUTIFUL HORSES! Would definitely recommend as it is my absolute favorite place to go horse riding

Great experience! Staff were fanrastic with our family of four. A big thank you to Sam & Keely who took us out today. Small groups with someone always watching over you, so we felt very safe. Riding along the beach was just amazing!

This was an awesome ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely suits beginners! As I am not a beginner I would have liked a bit more time on the beach and maybe a canter or gallop but it was a warm day for the horses. We will be back ?

First time riders and my partner and I absolutely loved it. Bekim was super helpful, friendly and welcoming. Had two awesome instructors, Rose out front providing great tips to my partner who was very nervous and keeping up a steady flow of general banter making it a very relaxing ride, and Bec tailing us making sure we're all clear and safe on the trail. Clearly this business cares not only about the rider's safety but also the horses' whilst providing great service. My horse (Poncho) was the sweetest and took care of me the whole ride. Already planning a return trip!

I went recently with my Aunt and Cousin and did the early morning trail and beach ride. ( This was a small group of just 5, it's the horses first ride of the day and the weather was sunny and still!) As someone who has been a competitive horse rider, when I go on a trail ride I want to be able to relax and enjoy it. I would like to be around people who know what they are doing, make you feel welcome, safe and show respect and love for their horses. This is exactly what GTR offers! Running a trial riding business would be hard work, with all the rules you have to adhere too from the council to the Insurance, looking after the horses and managing people from all walks of life and their expectations - I totally respect everything they do! Thank you guys for the great service and beautiful, meandering trail and beach ride - we will be back!

Surprised my partner with the St. Andrews beach ride and he loved it. It was a very hot day but everything went very smoothly and is well organised. They match you to the horses and give clear and friendly instructions. Only thing that could've been better would be more time at the beach and being able to ride in the water.

Yee ha! Trail ride was fun. We did the beach ride. The team were great and helpful. Our ride was well timed and worth it. My only complaint would be that it took the majority of time to get to the beach and once there we did not spend long on it. It was more bush ride plus a visit to the beach. Weren't able to canter or gallop in the beach which was disappointing

Girlfriend and I came here April 2017 for the sunset Beach ride. WOW! We both absolutely loved it in every way. The facilities were clean and we'll set out. The horses are genuinely cared for and looked after extremely well, rather than being treated like a machine. My girlfriend is an experienced rider having done competitions in her younger years and even she found it fun and exciting. All of the horses are well behaved and they do their best to match each person with a particular horse based on their personalities. The ride itself is a fantastic duration; leaving you wanting more time on the horse but representing fabulous value for money. The beach ride itself was great as you get to watch the sunset which is a phenomenal sight. Overall 10/10 would love to do it again.

My friends and I enjoyed the two hour beach ride yesterday. We were super impressed with the facility itself, how healthy & happy their horses were and the general feel of the establishment. We did a black helmet ride with trotting and cantering. Beautiful sandy track down to the beach. We appreciated that we were weighed and linked with our horses. The group was small and personal. Molly and Rose were our friendly hosts. The lovely funky Josh should also get a mention! A lady on our ride was overwhelmed and wanted to not continue the ride. Rose handled this beautifully, comforting the lady and organising for her to be picked up and the horse to return to the stables while communicating with all of us. We were very excited about the service and will be return clients for sure. Thank you for an wonderful experience. Keep doing what you’re doing! 5 Stars Liz Morrow

We had a fantastic day yesterday for my birthday going on a 2hr trail ride lead by Shannon, Emma & Josh. Shannon was very informative and made us both feel at ease. The horses were amazing, well looked after and you could tell they were used to the track which made me feel more comfortable. We had plenty of little trots which was enough speed for me. Overall an amazing experience and we are already looking into dates for a future booking.

I booked a ride as a birthday gift for my boyfriend (I used Adrenaline website and got $20 discount). He has never experienced riding a horse in his life so I was really hoping that it would be perfect. And it was amazing! We spend some time for safety inspections - more than I expected, they really care about our safety which is good. The instructor made sure that everyone understood the commands for the horses before we started. The bush ride was not too long but it was enough for us to get used to riding a horse and enjoy the forest around us. Thank you for a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the ride.
