For the safety of our customers and the health of our horses, we have a safety weight restriction. Too great a weight on a horse’s back can cause serious injury and thus we have a Customer maximum weight restriction of 95 kg. At the time of Booking, we ask that you discuss your weight, height and riding experience with our staff to ensure that Riders do not exceed the 95kg maximum weight allowance.
All Customers are weighed prior to the commencement of their Activity & if we have been INCORRECTLY advised & their weight exceeds the Maximum Safety Weight Restriction (95kg), the booking will NOT be rescheduled, NO Credit will be offered and NO Refund will be provided under any circumstances.
Unfortunately, any person that weighs more than 95kg will not be able to ride with us.
To assist us with horse allocation, all bookings are to indicate the following.

NOTE: Refunds will not be given where a customer exceeds the Maximum Safety Weight Restriction of 95kg, so please ensure that correct weights are given for all riders at the time of booking.
If you have incorrectly advised us of your weight and we are unable to allow you to ride on the day, No Refund will be given as per our Refund Policy in the Terms & Conditions.
Are you an Experienced Rider? (i.e. More than 5 years continuous riding)
Please ensure special physical requirements or disabilities are stated before any booking has been made. Gunnamatta Trail Rides reserves right to refuse service to any Customer (if you have any Special Needs, Medical (e.g. Heart, Pregnancy, Mental health, etc..) &/or Physical conditions) that could endanger yourself, the animals, staff or other patrons.
All Riders must arrive 30 mins before their scheduled ride. This is so we can fit your helmet and go through important safety instructions before the ride departs at the scheduled time.
What to Wear
Please ensure all riders are wearing long pants and fully enclosed shoes acceptable for riding a horse. Any rider arriving in unsuitable shoes will be provided with an option from our small selection – however all sizes not guaranteed.
Gunnamatta Trail Rides advises you bring a jacket with you in case of rain, as rides will continue regardless of weather – except in extreme storm conditions where you will be contacted to reschedule the booking.
To secure your Booking full payment of all riders is required. In the event that Management agrees to accept a deposit to secure your Booking, the balance of payment is required before you commence your Ride.
Rescheduling, Cancellation and Refund Policy
You can purchase at an additional cost, our “Rescheduling” cover either at the time or within 24hrs from the time when you have made your booking as per below:
Extra Charge – Package A: Rescheduling – 3 days or more prior to Experience Date:
$25pp participant fee to change the experience date &/or time
Extra Charge – Package B: Rescheduling – 2 days or less prior to Experience Date:
$49pp participant fee to change the experience date &/or time
Within 2 days of the Experience Date, No Shows & Late Arrivals:
Participants forfeit their Experience and therefore are not entitled to a refund or to re-book under any circumstances, unless, they have purchased the “Extra Charge – Package B” product.
All Cancellations must be advised with at least 48 hours prior to date of the scheduled ride. Any payments that have been made will be transferred to the mutually agreed rescheduled date.
A $50 per rider cancellation fee applies if you have notified the Bookings Office with at least 48 hours notice & simply changed your mind & decided not to ride.
If you are within the 48 hours timeframe, the Booking will NOT be rescheduled, Credit will NOT be provided and NO Refund will be given if you have simply changed your mind and decide not to ride. This also applies if you decide NOT to ride or continue once the ride has commenced.
NO Refunds will be provided to any Customer, if we have been INCORRECTLY advised of their weight that exceeds our Maximum Safety Weight Restriction (95kg).
- Gift certificates purchased before 1st November 2019 are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Gift certificates purchased from 1st November 2019 are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.
- Gift certificates cannot be extended beyond their initial validation period or be replaced if lost or stolen.
- No refunds will be given if you have simply changed your mind and decide not to use the Voucher.
On our rides we do have age restrictions to ensure your safety.
Min age 6 yrs Truemans Bush Ride, Kids Program, School Holiday Program, Lessons, Horseback Birthday Party.
Min age 10 yrs St Andrews Beach Ride, Beach Ride Packages, Early Bird Ride, Twilight Beach Ride.
Min age 13 yrs Teen Program.
Min age 14 yrs Greens Bush Ride, Limestone Ride, All Day Rides.
